After destroying the zipper beyond repair, it had to be ripped out. And I just haven't found the time to go to JoAnn's to buy another.
Therefore, I've prepped for my next project. It is another of Louise's patterns, a sun dress. (Yes, I know it's January and -2 without windchill, but I long for my summer dresses.)
The dress is simple and timeless. It's an unprinted Advance from the early 50's. The skirt drapes nicely, not too slim and not to full and bulky, and hopefully flattering. I'll use a fun, cotton print in shades of blue with wavy stripes... To me, the eye catcher is the bolero. I love the shape and the single button at the neckline. I'll make the bolero in a periwinkle blue linen.
My fabric is washed and prepped and the pattern is ready to go. I'll probably cut tomorrow as I have much to today... Stay tuned!

LOVE the pattern! the bolero is GREAT! I can't wait to see this all sewn up. I'm longing for summer dresses right about now too!
This is a very stylish dress. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Good luck with the sewing (with hopefully as little errors during the proces as possible).
It looks like it will be very beautiful.
I look forward to seeing this when it's done.
I think I picked the wrong fabric for this... the skirt is turning out more A-line... All I need to do is hem and zipper, then I'll decide whether to make the bolero which was my favorite part!
