Up Next: A Dress!
With the exception of the zipper, I finished my skirt. I really like it, despite the goofy mistakes that I made. But hey, it wouldn't be sewing without goofy mistakes. I've accepted the fact long ago that every project I make will be met with such errors.
After destroying the zipper beyond repair, it had to be ripped out. And I just haven't found the time to go to JoAnn's to buy another.
Therefore, I've prepped for my next project. It is another of Louise's patterns, a sun dress. (Yes, I know it's January and -2 without windchill, but I long for my summer dresses.)
The dress is simple and timeless. It's an unprinted Advance from the early 50's. The skirt drapes nicely, not too slim and not to full and bulky, and hopefully flattering. I'll use a fun, cotton print in shades of blue with wavy stripes... To me, the eye catcher is the bolero. I love the shape and the single button at the neckline. I'll make the bolero in a periwinkle blue linen.
My fabric is washed and prepped and the pattern is ready to go. I'll probably cut tomorrow as I have much to today... Stay tuned!
